VINCI Airports, the parent company of Belgrade Airport, which operates Nikola Tesla Airport, presented its traffic results for the first quarter (January-March) of 2025. In the first three months of 2025, more than 73 million passengers traveled through the VINCI Airport network, 4 million in total or 6 percent more than in the same period last year.
At the same time, Belgrade Airport handled more than 1.6 million passengers, which is 0,4% more than last year and 56% more than in the same period in 2019 and almost 16,000 flights operated, which is 0,2% less than last year and 38% more than in the same period in 2019, thus positioning of Belgrade Airport as one of the fastest growing airports in Europe compared to pre-pandemic levels.
In order to further develop air traffic and optimise utilisation of infrastructure, Belgrade Airport recently introduced new incentive plan. This year already brought new route to Shanghai, operated by national carrier Air Serbia, which will be followed in the next couple of months with new flights from Belgrade to Florence, Sardinia, Tbilisi and Mykonos. Beside this, SkyExpress plans flights to Rhodes. Coming months will bring Wizz Air expansion basing fourth A321 at Belgrade Airport, thus replacing all Belgrade fleet with A321-neo biggest configuration, which will result in recovered capacity to the level of 2023 with two additional routes to Alicante and Friedrichshafen.
This year Belgrade will be connected with 116 airports, 103 by schedule flights and 13 with seasonal charter flights as Belgrade Airport plays increasingly each year its key role of connecting Serbia to the rest of the world.
Belgrade Airport remains committed to further improving the customer experience, explore new potential routes and commercial offer at the airport, to ensure that we provide the best service to our customers and complete the passenger experience at the terminal.
