  • More than 8 million passengers in 2024, record-high number of passengers at Belgrade Airport
  • Continued modernisation with a special focus on sustainability and improvement of passenger experience

Belgrade Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, marked a significant historical result today by welcoming its eight millionth passenger since the beginning of the year at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport! The anniversary passenger is Mr.Igor Zagorujcenko, who travelled on the Air Serbia flight to Athens.

The passenger was welcomed during check-in by Belgrade Airport CEO, Chivoine Rem, who granted Mr. Zagorujcenko with valuable gifts - a return air ticket to any scheduled Air Serbia destination, a 100 EUR voucher for shopping in duty free shops, and a voucher for priority boarding service for one year.

“We are marking a milestone in Belgrade Airport’s history today with our eight millionth passenger served in a single year, reflecting VINCI Airports’ commitment to position Belgrade as a key point for air traffic in the region. This success would not have been possible without the major expansion works achieved since 2019, and above all without the trust of our passengers. We thank them for choosing Belgrade Airport for their travels.” said Chivoine Rem, Belgrade Airport CEO.

With the 8-million yearly passengers threshold now crossed, Belgrade Airport’s passenger traffic has grown by more than forty percent since the end of 2018, positioning the airport fully on track with its aim to reach 15 million passengers at the end of the concession period.

"Welcoming the eight millionth passenger at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport marks a significant milestone, and Air Serbia is honoured to have played a key role in achieving this remarkable success. As the national carrier, we remain dedicated to advancing Serbia’s aviation sector and positioning Belgrade as a leading hub in the region. We congratulate Belgrade Airport on the accomplishment. To the eight millionth passenger, Mr./Ms. X, who was presented with an Air Serbia ticket to a destination of choice from our scheduled network, we wish a pleasant flight and a memorable experience in the chosen city," said Milan Malović, Air Serbia Chief Operations Officer.

VINCI Airports will continue to invest in Nikola Tesla Airport’s development and modernisation, with particular attention to sustainability and passenger experience, setting the solid foundations for future growth of air traffic in Serbia and the region.
