  • Solid start of the year supported by continuous capacity expansion
  • Record 118 scheduled and charter destinations in this year summer season

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, reported good performance in the first quarter of 2026, welcoming 8.8 % more passengers compared to the same period in 2025.

During the first three months of the year, the airport continued to strengthen Serbia’s connectivity with wide range of European and intercontinental destinations, offering more than 100 routes in total. Belgrade Airport is further reinforcing its position as a leading regional aviation hub, driven by a well-developed route network and growing transfer traffic.
“The total number of 1,7 million passengers handled in the first quarter represents a solid indicator of the confidence that both passengers and airlines have in Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. We will continue to invest in infrastructure and service quality improvements to meet passenger expectations and support further growth in air traffic. In this year summer season, passengers from Belgrade will be able to travel to a record 118 scheduled and charter destinations, including nine new routes, served by 28 airlines” said Chivoine Rem, CEO of Belgrade Airport.

The positive traffic trend in the first quarter has been accompanied by the continuous development of airport infrastructure. As part of its overall development plan, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport will continue to enhance terminal capacity, operational efficiency, commercial offerings and passenger comfort. Work is currently underway on expansion of the airport complex’s C-side. The new section of the terminal will feature three new gates, three new passenger boarding bridges, and four entirely new aircraft parking positions.

Across the VINCI Airports network, airports recorded 1,5 % year-on-year passenger growth in the first quarter of 2026 and total number of more than 74 million passengers in first three months of this year, continuing the global trend of sustained growth and long-term development in air transport.
